When was the last time you stopped to ‘smell the roses’? For many of us we’re so busy being busy, juggling roles of mum, wife, sister, daughter, entrepreneur, business worker, not to mention being the food shopper, cleaner, cook, taxi driver, nurse… For those of us with a business, often we created this so we’d be able to choose the hours we work around the various roles we play – and sometimes this doesn’t seem to happen does it?
Over the last few months I’ve realised the importance of building my business around my time. So that my business – isn’t busi-ness but productive and fun! When was the last time you considered how many hours you find yourself working – and which of those hours completely productive? Would you like more time for you to be doing the things you love?
If this resonates with you, let me share how you could enjoy more time next year!
- Block out your 2013 holidays on a planner as you may have when were employed – so these are set – and non negotiable.
- Choose how many hours you wish to work each week – and block out your time for ‘doing what you love’ time.
- Use online calendar such as google’s calendar – it’s free, easy and you can colour code the various activities – such as appointments as well as ‘me time’. This can sync automatically to your android mobile phone. You can even share it with others.
- Consider finding a Virtual Assistant who could complete some of the tasks you don’t enjoy and waste time trying to figure out!
If you’re like me, you’ll value time and freedom too – by honouring these values, it gives me time to re-charge so that I can serve my clients even more. And you already know – I love my clients!
